Tutors Needed at ACHS
The ACHS Youth in Progress (YIP) program seeks volunteers to help students in grades 9-12 who are facing academic challenges due to difficulties with understanding material, organizational skills, or study habits.
The sessions are held 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at ACHS/Minnie Howard (3801 W Braddock Rd,) and 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Thursdays at ACHS/King Street (3330 King St.). Families are invited to attend a fun night of math and literacy games to help parents and kids connect over their education. Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down for the event. Contact Site Coordinator Nikia Ewell with any questions at nikia@cisofnova.org
Join Communities in Schools of NOVA and the Capital Area Food Bank to provide food assistance at Hammond Middle School every third Thursday.
CIS NOVA, Capital Area Foodbank, and ALIVE! come together once a month to distribute food to families in the area. There are many different dates and times to attend, for more information please contact Site Coordinator Mary Grace McConnell at marygrace@cisofnova.org or click the link below.
