Help students on their scholarship applications, serve as a guest speaker promoting postgraduate success, or work one-on-one with students during college/career preparation workshops.
Tutoring
Young Professionals Board
Communities In Schools of NOVA looking for talented young professionals to dedicate their time and talents as members of our Young Professionals Board. The YPC will support the work of CIS NOVA by providing valuable assistance to our development, student support, and outreach efforts. Branding and Marketing
Plan and implement marketing initiatives to further the brand of Communities In Schools and Communities In Schools of NOVA throughout the Northern Virginia region.
Community Resource Outreach
Connect local organizations and services with Communities In Schools of NOVA that will provide basic needs services to students. These proposals may include clothing drives, healthcare screenings, and community service opportunities.
Special Event Support
Mentors
Mentor and guide students for a variety of programs and special-interest groups.
AFAC Food Distribution & Packing
Join the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) and community volunteers every Wednesday at the Arlington Career Center to assist students with selecting their supplemental groceries or every Friday at Barcroft Elementary School to pack bags of groceries for students.
Basic Needs Support
One of the guiding principles of Communities In Schools is to provide students with a Healthy Start and a Health Future. We need your support in our grocery distribution programs, clothing drives, and other special events throughout the school year to provide critical supports to our students.
