New Year, New Building, Same Wakefield Warmth

Communities in Schools of NOVA isn't the only new thing on the block of South Chesterfield Road in Arlington - Wakefield High School opened its brand new doors to students and staff for the start of the 2013-2014 school year!  The old building, which opened in 1953, served the Arlington community for 60 years - an amazing feat attributed to the hard work and dedication of the the custodial and maintenance staff by teachers and counselors at the school.  New students, staff members and community members are just as impressed with the new building as 20 year veteran teachers, and all are [...]

Arlington Mill High School moves to the Arlington Career Center

Arlington Mill High School students were in for a treat when they arrived on campus for this school year. The high school recently made a move into the Arlington Career Center where students now have access to the career and technical classes at the Arlington Career Center, common spaces and other phenomenal components of the building. Welcome to Communities In Schools of Northern Virginia

The mission of Communities In Schools of Northern Virginia (CISofNOVA) is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools in Northern Virginia to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life.
